Weight: 200 lbs
How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I got kind of picked on when I was younger about my weight. When I got to high school I loved sports, but I loved the physical aspect. Training in the gym and looking good was more important than sports to me. I started to get into Instagram fit models and bodybuilders and decided I wanted to be just like them and try to motivate others to be like me.
Instagram has provided anyone who wants to work hard a new frontier to market themselves. Its very powerful.
Where does your motivation come from?
My motivation comes from a lot of places. First, my son, I want him to have someone to look up too, someone he’s proud of. Next would be my girlfriend. She’s been pushing me since the beginning and I’d like for her to see me finish! My father is also a big motivational factor. My dad has shown me I can do anything possible through Christ who gives me strength. I’d like to be my fathers first successful kid. My past motivates me a lot also. I’ve seen dark times like anyone else, but I didn’t let them stop me. It just made me stronger.
Once you have a child things change. Your living not for you but for someone else. Every day my tasks revolve around securing a wonderful future for my son.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
Push-pull! Each muscle group twice per week is what works and I feel is most efficient. Lifting heavy at all times and Recording every movement with volume, weight, reps, etc seems to work the best.
You wouldnt believe it, but ive been through every workout in Arnolds Encyclopedia :-p
What do you credit to your transformation?
Well, I give myself and the people I’ve had around me ( including my coach Carl Jackson) credit for my transformation. Staying focused and listening to coach has gotten me where I am. Self-determination and self-discipline also. If I weren’t listening to good advice and paying attention I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere with my body.
Working with Carl Jackson taught me its not what you know, its how long you stick with it to see the entire plan play out.
If you had to pick only 3 exercises what would they be and why?
Deadlift, Bench, and Pull-ups, Id choose those because all of those workouts use core stabilization muscles. Also, your hitting pretty much every muscle group.
What is your supplementation like?
Everything I use is from Juggernaut Labz as long as its something they make or are researching and developing for a future product release. Aside from that I do my best to get everything I need from whole food.
- Protein (whatever is on sale)
- Juggernaut Labz Pre-Workout #2 (in development)
- Juggernaut Labz Hydroxyburn
- Juggernaut Labz Beast One & Two (Available Soon)
What is your diet like?
Right now it’s on the lean bulky side, high carbs, high protein, moderate fats. Everything is still pretty lean beside condiments and my post workout shake.
- Meal 1: Fresh Veggie Omelet and Cream of Wheat w/ Blueberries
- Meal 2: Garden Salad w/ Chicken and Lite Dressing
- Meal 3: Chicken Take Out w/ Two Fiberous Sides
- Meal 4: Shake/Fruit/Juice
- Meal 5: Steak Dinner with 2 Clean Sides
- Meal 4: Organic Waffle/Pancake Fruit Slices
If there’s one misconception that people have about you, what would you like to clarify to them?
People feel like it’s easy. A lot of people that haven’t tried to do a show thinks anyone can do it. I just say try to do one then come to talk to me.
People thing new competitors just play on social media all day but its a business. The sooner you all realize this the sooner you’ll be able to live your passion instead of someone else’s
How do your training and diet evolve as you get closer to a competition?
It goes from eating everything I want to eating nothing I want. It’s the truth, I don’t like eating (pretty much anything) I eat I prep, but you don’t eat to like it. You eat for the results
What I wrote seems short but people overcomplicate the simple things. The fact is, small changes combined with patience equal large results when you zoom out and look at the entire picture. KISS “Keep it simple stupid”
Tell us about your hobbies outside of bodybuilding?
I really don’t have any hobbies, I like to travel and go places with my family. Other than that I’m In the house playing video games. If I’m bored I’m at the gym. I don’t need the tons of friends or anything to entertain me.
